A 27-year-old event management professional was killed in an accident while trying to escape from eve-teasers who were chasing her in another vehicle in West Bengal's Paschim Bardhaman district. The victim, identified as Suchandra Chattopadhyay, was travelling with three colleagues to Gaya for a function when the accident took place at Panagarh around 3 AM. Forty-two more firearms and cartridges have been surrendered by the public in five districts of ethnic strife-torn Manipur, police said. The surrender comes after Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla urged warring groups to voluntarily surrender weapons robbed from security forces and other illegally held firearms within seven days. The deadline was later extended till March 6. Seven people were arrested in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district of Telangana in connection with the murder of a man who had filed a complaint against former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and others alleging corruption in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project. Police said N Rajalingamurthy was stabbed to death over a land dispute on February 19. The accused, including a former municipal vice-chairman associated with the ruling BRS, confessed to the crime and led the police to the weapons used, including knives, an iron rod, mobile phones, and motorcycles. Three other accused are absconding in the case. Rajalingamurthy had earlier filed a private complaint in a court seeking registration of an FIR against BRS President Chandrasekhar Rao and others after the sinking of some piers of the Medigadda barrage, alleging irregularities in the construction of the project.
A four-storey residential building in Delhi's Mustafabad collapsed on Saturday morning, killing four people and trapping many others under the rubble. Rescue teams are working to pull survivors from the debris, but the collapse has been described as a "pancake collapse" where chances of survival are minimal.

A 20-year-old Indian student, Sudiksha Konanki, has gone missing while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. A 56-year-old Indian-origin man and his 24-year-old daughter were shot and killed at a convenience store in Virginia. Police have arrested a 44-year-old man, George Frazier Devon Wharton, in connection with the shooting. The victims were identified as Pradipkumar Patel and his daughter, who were working at the store when the shooting occurred. The family of missing 20-year-old Indian student Sudiksha Konanki has asked police in the Dominican Republic to declare her dead, according to US media reports. Konanki was last seen on March 6 at the Riu Republic Resort in Punta Cana town.
